A relatively new addition to Gloucester Road. Gloucester Road Books opened in 2021, a strong, confident move considering what was going on at the time, just going to show that the owners knew they were onto something. The shop actively encourages customers to browse broadly by not sticking to traditional subject sections— for example, their ‘Time and Place’ section contains books on History, Travel, Geography and Reportage. There are loads of kids' books, trad sections for fiction and non-fiction and a strong representation of small, independent presses that are putting in some really exciting work at the moment. The stock is constantly changing, meaning that even if you drop by every week, you’ll always find something new and inspiring.
